Project overview

Prestige Property Photography was engaged to capture updated marketing imagery for a 7-Eleven fuel and convenience retail asset located at 214 Wollombi Road, Cessnock NSW.

The assignment was commissioned by CBRE Capital Markets – Private Wealth via Supamac Marketing as part of a national investment campaign.

The property was being prepared for sale via National Expressions of Interest, requiring professional imagery that clearly communicated the asset’s location prominence, tenant strength, and surrounding commercial infrastructure.

Due to marketing timelines, the photography required short-notice scheduling and same-day delivery of final images.

The Asset

The property comprises a freestanding 7-Eleven service station and convenience retail store positioned on a prominent corner site within one of Cessnock’s primary traffic corridors.

Key investment attributes include:

• 15-year lease to 7-Eleven extending to June 2031
• Two further five-year options through to 2041
• Net lease structure with tenant responsible for outgoings
• Fixed 4% annual rent increases
• Modern purpose-built service station constructed in 2016
• 226 sqm convenience retail store operating 24 hours

The site sits on a 1,575 sqm corner parcel with significant frontage to Wollombi Road, providing strong vehicle visibility and convenient access for passing traffic.

Strategic Location

Located within the Cessnock retail and automotive precinct, the property benefits from proximity to a range of national retail and commercial operators.

Major nearby anchors include:

• ALDI
• IGA
• KFC
• Taco Bell

The surrounding area also hosts multiple Tier-1 automotive dealerships including Toyota, Kia, Nissan and Hyundai.

The site sits directly opposite the Cessnock Leagues Club, which is undergoing a $15.5 million redevelopmentexpected to significantly increase visitor activity within the precinct.

Wollombi Road serves as a key arterial connection between Cessnock and Newcastle, generating consistent vehicle traffic throughout the day.

Photography Brief

The objective of the photography was to document the asset’s commercial presence, traffic exposure, and surrounding urban context.

Key elements requested included:

• Exterior ground photography of the fuel forecourt and canopy
• Clear visibility of 7-Eleven and Mobil branding
• High and low altitude drone perspectives
• Streetscape imagery demonstrating passing traffic
• Aerial context showing the property within the wider Cessnock township

These perspectives allow investors to easily understand the site layout, accessibility, and strategic positioning within the local retail environment.

Photography Approach

A combination of ground-level and aerial drone photography was used to capture the asset from multiple viewpoints.

Ground photography focused on documenting:

• Forecourt layout and canopy structure
• Prominent roadside pylon signage
• Vehicle movement within the site
• Road frontage along Wollombi Road

Drone imagery was used to illustrate the broader urban context of Cessnock, highlighting nearby retail centres, surrounding residential areas, and the site's position within the local transport network.

These perspectives help communicate the asset’s visibility and accessibility within the regional retail hub.

Project Timeline

The assignment was arranged on short notice to support the campaign timeline.

Following a phone discussion with Supamac Marketing earlier that day, the shoot was scheduled to align with existing travel commitments in the Newcastle region.

Photography commenced onsite at approximately 1:30 PM, with the full image set delivered to the client later that evening.

A total of 62 professionally edited commercial images were delivered at 10:14 PM on the same day, ensuring the marketing team could immediately integrate the imagery into campaign materials.

Post-Production

Images were refined through professional post-production to ensure a clean and consistent commercial presentation suitable for investor marketing materials.

Adjustments included:

• Balanced exposure and highlight recovery
• Colour correction to maintain accurate 7-Eleven brand colours
• Subtle tonal shaping to enhance visibility of the forecourt and signage
• Light contrast adjustments for clarity across aerial and ground perspectives

The goal was to deliver imagery that presents the asset with clear, natural lighting while maintaining an authentic representation of the site.

Outcome

The final imagery supports CBRE’s national marketing campaign for the property, clearly illustrating the asset’s corner positioning, tenant branding, and surrounding commercial environment.

By combining aerial context with ground-level imagery of the operational forecourt, the photography communicates the property's visibility, accessibility, and investment appeal within one of the Hunter region’s growing retail corridors.
