The person behind Prestige Property Photography
I’m Wayne Saladine, a photographer and filmmaker based on the Central Coast, NSW.
Photography has fascinated me for as long as I can remember. I’ve always been interested in how light and composition shape an image—creating contrast, guiding your eye and influencing what you feel when you look at it.
Initially, that interest drew me to landscapes. I loved how a photograph could communicate the atmosphere of a place. Photographing people appealed to me for similar reasons: the opportunity to tell a story through expression, light and composition.
Over time, I found a particular strength in property photography. It brought together my creative interests and my understanding of business and commercial appeal. I could apply the same attention to light, space and storytelling while creating something useful for a client.
That combination continues to draw me deeper into the craft: solving visual problems, making purposeful work and forming meaningful relationships with the people who commission it.
The perspective I bring
Before focusing full-time on Prestige Property Photography, my career was in general management, operations and site services. I also completed an MBA through the Australian Institute of Business, alongside diplomas in Project Management and Work Health & Safety.
That background influences how I approach a brief. I want to understand the business behind it, the audience it needs to reach and what the imagery needs to communicate.
With commercial property, I consider the building alongside its location, access and appeal to investors or prospective occupiers. With business photography, I look at the services, people and capabilities that make the organisation worth choosing. With portraits, I consider the individual and how they want to be represented.
Understanding those things gives direction to the creative work.
My approach to the image
I pay close attention to how light falls across a room, how framing reveals the character of a space and how a small adjustment in angle or expression can change a portrait.
My own preference is for a natural, editorial finish, with balanced light, believable colour and carefully considered compositions. I also recognise that clients have established visual identities. Aligning with an agency’s style or a business’s brand standards is an important part of representing them well.
Film extends that approach through movement, pacing and sound, offering another way to tell the story.
My work now spans residential and commercial property, retail, hospitality, portraits and business branding. You can explore examples of that work and the thinking behind it in my selected projects.
